What does the battle rope work?

  • Battle rope exercises can be a total body workout that stresses the muscles of the torso, back, legs and arms. Battle ropes are also used for conditioning workouts and to build work capacity and mental toughness. Battle ropes are an often used conditioning tool for fighters and football players. The number and scope of the exercises performed with the battle ropes are only limited by the skill and knowledge of the user.

What size battle ropes to buy?

  • The optimum length for a battle rope can depend on the intended use and space available to the user. In commercial gyms and even professional athlete training centers the typical rope length is 50 ft. Shorter ropes can be used when space is limited or as the exercise requires. The important thing to keep in mind is having enough length to generate the undulating wave motion of the ropes. Shorter battle ropes are used for one arm exercises, rotational and swinging exercises for the core and trunk or even for rope jumping/skipping.
